hello there.
I’m Cat.
I've built a career out of being uncomfortable with how things are.
I've worked across industries, countries, and disciplines—everywhere from IBM (where I saw the rise of Watson and earned a patent) to the founding days of the National Craft Spirits Association and helping shape legislation for the U.S. craft spirits industry, to leading workshops at national conferences and sitting on regional non-profit boards. I've advised organizations like the Miami Symphony Orchestra, LVMH, Royal Bank of Scotland, spoken at universities and panels, and spent time learning how to build earth-ships in the outback (turns out I'm solar-powered, not a hobbit-hole person).
The through-line? I keep seeing the same thing: systems built a century ago that don't fit how humans actually work. Great minds trapped in structures that make them interchangeable. Critical thinking replaced by playbooks.
That's why VOEN exists.
I help cult brands break the habits they can't see, build systems that actually fit how they operate, and bring people together—through conversations, workshops, and connections—to imagine what the next 100 years of work could look like.
I get to know people through conversations and field trips. I make up words when the right one's out of reach (verbal charades is my love language). I feel stuck in stagnant environments and alive exploring new horizons. I can drive a stick, but I'd rather take the train. I'm perpetually attempting new languages (fluency pending) so if anyone can help me unlock the secrets of Wernicke's area, I'm all ears.
I'm curious – what are you trying to build?
